Each year, we hold our Heroes Bass Fishing Derby program. The HBF Derbies are held monthly April – October, where we recruit volunteers with fishing boats that have a live well and pair them up with one of our Nation’s Heroes to compete amongst each other for bragging rights and a medallion award in several categories.
This year we decided to keep track and award the top HBF 24 volunteer boater & top Hero. The winners were:
HBF 24 Hero Champion – Joseph Price
HBF 24 Boater Champion – Stephen Wheeler
Both Champions received tackle, a custom long sleeve UV fishing shirt, $50 gift card to MegaLure (a Veteran owned & operated business), $50 gift card to Texas Roadhouse, a plaque AND a 50w 12v remote controlled LED light for their boat.
In addition to our two champions, we gifted Vietnam Marine Veteran boater volunteer Bob Tiller with a 50w 12v remote controlled LED light and a $50 gift card for not only making every event, but also for providing two boats.
This cookout was an opportunity for Woods n Water to thank everyone that has participated in the HBF 24 program and present the winners with their prizes.
To thank each and every participant, volunteers & Heroes, we also gifted them with our new custom HBF 24 UV long sleeve T-shirts
