Today, we had an opportunity to assist the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks deliver and assemble one of their outstanding Welcome Home Kits. Our President is also the Veterans Committee Chairman for the Clayton Elks 2132 and after hearing about a residentially challenged Veteran moving into a new residence and needing volunteers, we quickly asked to help.

The Elks Welcome Home Kits provide MANY needed household items for our Nation’s Heroes, such as silverware, tableware, small kitchen appliances, furniture, lamps and more. It is a great way to thank Veterans for their time in service and to welcome them home. These kits are a testament to the Elks motto: “So long as there are Veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them”.

Elks Lodges Marlton #2514; Clayton #2132; Millville #580 along with Veterans Committee District Chairman Walt Lesyk were the key players on this mission. Woods n Water was represented today by board members Joe Phillips and George Daly & volunteers Amanda Flaa and Jacob Kirkendoll. Together, boxes were unpacked, furniture was assembled, the food pantry was filled with food from the WnW Food Pantry and a grateful Veteran was left happy and ready to embark on his next journey.
