We couldn’t fit all the photos, even with excluding the least important ones, so we had to add another post.
We hit the road at 0800 on 8/29, arrived at Gunstock Campground at approximately 1700.
Set up camp and just as we were finishing the last tent, the rain arrived! Luckily, Army Hero Trevor got a fire started before the rain started. After a group wood collecting mission and the statement from one – “if it ain’t raining, we ain’t training”, we all stood around the fire and got to know one another. The rain lasted approximately 45 minutes.
Saturday 8/30 morning, we hit the trails at 0730, putting in 9 miles through scenic trails making our way up Gunstock Mountain. We reached our campsite at 1300, started another fire, and enjoyed some snacks and conversation before heading to Laconia VFW Post 1670 where we were welcomed and made to feel at home. Tim Grant, from Post 1670 set up a tasty food spread with the help of other members of Post 1670……. the Cowboy Beans were a hit!!! Thank you Post 1670
After dinner, drinks and camaraderie, it was campfire time. The conversations lasted well into the night.
Early to rise, pack up, head to Union Diner for some breakfast before parting ways. Thank you Union Diner for the 10% discount!
