SUMMARY:Mission: Secret Santa
DESCRIPTION:Each year we seem to find a Hero Family that could use some Christmas cheer.\n\n\n\nWe first met this Combat Army Veteran last year when a VFW Post contacted us about one of their members needing food assistance after the mother of his children suffered a medical emergency leaving him to work full time and take care of his three children. Just prior to this incident\, this Hero adopted three of his sister’s children.\n\n\n\nThe Woods n Water crew showed up with food to stock up their pantry and gave his house a good cleaning. The Veteran did what he was trained to do…. he improvised\, adapted and has been overcoming the situation. But\, life decided to throw another challenge at him. Now he has moved his mother in and she has two children from the Veteran’s sister. Bringing the total headcount of children to EIGHT!!!\n\n\n\nWe are asking for your help to make this Hero Family’s Christmas brighter than what they have all been through for the past year. Imagine what all of the children are going through. The Veteran’s biological children having their home and way of life disrupted\, the sister’s children’s lives also being disrupted and having to relocate. SUMMARY:South Cape May Meadows Hike/Ruck
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an easy scenic hike/ruck at the South Cape May Meadows Trails. This is a very easy low impact hike/ruck. \nThe SCM Meadows offers scenery\, feathered wildlife easy flat trails and connects with the Cape May Point State Park.We will start at Meadows make our way to the state park and visit the lighthouse & the WWII Bunker then make our way back to Meadows to make our way back to our starting point. \nWe will be offering two groups to better accommodate different interests. One group will be more of a leisure walk with a guide from the Nature Conservancy offering information about the Meadows\, the wildlife there and its vegetation. The other group will be a more fast pace and longer hike/ruck. \nFor those wishing to ruck\, we encourage you throw 22lbs in your ruck sack to honor the Heroes that we lose to suicide. According to a research done\, on average\, 22 Veterans die by suicide each day. We lose more of our Nation’s Heroes to suicide than we do to their time in service. This includes military\, police\, firefighters and EMS! Please reach out if you need someone to talk to. \nIf you are having a mental health crisis or a love one is\, please call 988.
