SUMMARY:Mission: Hero Hike
DESCRIPTION:We invite our Nation’s Heroes out for a morning hike at Ceres Park\, located in Mantua\, NJ. This will be our first time at this location\, so we will be doing one large group hike to learn it together. \nWe ask everyone to arrive by 9:00 am\, sign in\, grab a bottle of water\, a snack and enjoy the camaraderie. Being in nature is good for the mind\, body and soul. Be sure to wear appropriate attire/footwear for hiking through the woods. There good be some wet areas\, according to what was found during a research of the park.  \n\nWe plan on hitting the trail at 10:00\, after everyone has signed in and we have orientation\, followed with The Pledge of Allegiance. As mentioned\, this is a new trail\, therefore we are unsure of how long it will take for the hike.  \n\nVolunteers that enjoy hiking & desire to thank & serve our Nation’s Heroes\, feel free to register and join us.

DESCRIPTION:Woods ~n~ Water is holding a boat fishing event for our Nation’s Heroes. If you are a Veteran/Active Duty member of the Armed Forces or a First Responder\, please join us for a day of fishing\, camaraderie and friendly competition. Everything is FREE! \n\n**Be sure to register via Eventbrite\, by clicking in the link provided.** \n\nIf you have your own gear\, bring it. If not\, we will provide what you need to have a good day on the water boat fishing. We will pair you up with a volunteer with a boat and angler experience to see which boat team will have bragging rights for the day. \nCategories: \n(5) 12″ Bass limit \nBig Bass \nBig Miscellaneous \nBig Panfish \nVolunteers with a boat and fishing experience are wanted!!! Please register and we will pair you up with one of our Nation’s Heroes for an opportunity to show appreciation for their service and to provide a therapeutic day on the water. What better way to give back than to do something that you enjoy? Every day\, individuals that serve this great country die by suicide because of their time in service. Events like these have a positive impact on mental health and there have been studies done to prove that they do. Be part of a Hero’s journey to better mental health. \nAre you a Veterans or first Responders that have a boat we will pair you up with another Hero. If you have a friend or family member with a boat and would like to fish together\, we encourage you to join us. \nWe ask that everyone arrive on time or earlier\, sign in\, enjoy some coffee\, water\, snacks/bagels\, get acquainted with everyone and hit the water by 0630. SUMMARY:Mission: Night Out IV
DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin us for a casual night out!\n\nThe last Wednesday of each month\, we select a location to have a Night Out. We select a location that is either a non-profit or an establishment owned by a Veteran. Whether you are military\, a First Responder\, volunteer\, supporter or just want to join us\, please do.\n\nWe will be holding a 50/50 raffle as well. Our 50/50 is a bit different than most\, in that in addition to the winner getting 50% of the pot\, the winner will also receive a gift card (to be determined at the Night Out). The remaining 50% of the pot will go to a charity of the Surf Dogs choice.
