SUMMARY:Mission: Heroes Bass Fishing Derby - Union Lake
DESCRIPTION:This is a boat event for our Nation’s Heroes. Volunteer boaters will be paired with Veterans/active duty members of the Armed Forces and first responders for a FREE day of fishing on the water. No fishing license needed for Veterans or First Responders. All others must have valid fishing license.  \nIf a Veteran/active duty member of the Armed Forces or a first responder has their own boat or a friend/family member that will take them out in one\, they are welcome to do so. If not\, we will team up each Hero with someone with a boat. So if you have a boat and would like to volunteer your time and boat to take a Hero out for a day of fishing\, we welcome you to join us.  \nHeroes do NOT need a fishing license. NJ Fish & Wildlife generously waived the license requirement for WnW events. All others must have a current NJ fishing license in possession.  \nThere is a motor restriction for this lake. No motor bigger than 9.9hp and boats must be legally registered.  \nDerby team tournament format with awards going to:  \nBass 5 fish limit  \n* 1st Big Bass Team  \n* 1st Big Miscellaneous Team  \n* 1st Big Panfish Team (Crappie/Perch)  \n(1) fishing rod per person at a time. Lures & live bait permitted  \n(2) people per boat  \n*You MUST register via Eventbrite! Just click on tickets in this event and you will be directed to the registration.*

Such a beautiful location with well maintained trails that offer both an easy hike and a challenging hike. In addition to scenery\, this location holds some history.

DESCRIPTION:Woods ~n~ Water is holding a boat fishing event for our Nation’s Heroes. If you are a Veteran/Active Duty member of the Armed Forces or a First Responder\, please join us for a day of fishing\, camaraderie and friendly competition. Everything is FREE!  \n** Please be sure to register via Eventbrite by clicking on the tickets icon on this event. **  \nIf you have your own gear\, bring it. If not\, we will provide what you need to have a good day on the water boat fishing. We will pair you up with a volunteer with a boat and angler experience to see which boat team will have bragging rights for the day.  \nCategories:  \n(5) 12″ Bass limit  \nBig Bass  \nBig Miscellaneous  \nBig Panfish  \nVolunteers with a boat and fishing experience are wanted!!! Please register and we will pair you up with one of our Nation’s Heroes for an opportunity to show appreciation for their service and to provide a therapeutic day on the water. What better way to give back than to do something that you enjoy? Every day\, individuals that serve this great country die by suicide because of their time in service. Events like these have a positive impact on mental health and there have been studies done to prove that they do. Be part of a Hero’s journey to better mental health.  \nAre you a Veterans or first Responders that have a boat we will pair you up with another Hero. If you have a friend or family member with a boat and would like to fish together\, we encourage you to join us.  \nWe ask that everyone arrive on time or earlier\, sign in\, enjoy some coffee\, water\, snacks/bagels\, get acquainted with everyone and hit the water by 0630. Everyone is to be back at the ramp by 2:00pm\, weigh your catch\, release your catch\, then start busting chops about who won what.  \n\n** EVERYONE MUST REGISTERT VIA EVENTBRITE!!!
