Honoring all the men & women that have paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect the freedoms that we all enjoy.
Friday, Saturday & Sunday we spent our days at WnW Family Gleeson’s Liquors at 565 Sea Isle Blvd., Ocean View, NJ 08230 raising necessary funds to keep the WnW Mission strong!!! Gleeson’s Liquors is and has been a food drop location since the start of the WnW Food Pantry and their staff and owners encouraged us to setup a fundraiser outside their doors because they believe in the WnW mission and believe in giving back to the community especially when it pertains to our Nation’s Heroes. It’s always a productive 3 days, raising over $3,000!!! as well as having the opportunity to connect with Veterans, other organizations and those that are interested in volunteering. While achieving all of that, we also help our WnW Family Gleeson’s Liquors with shopping cart retrieving which is our way of showing thanks to Gleeson’s and to help the safety of the community.
Memorial Day (Monday) we were honored to join the Edgewater Park Elks Lodge #2550 with being part of the Beverly Memorial Day Parade. It was truly humbling to be staged along some of the very Heroes that we honor and vow to never forget. All ready to go, listening to patriotic music and waiting for the parade to commence, we gazed across the Beverly National Veterans Cemetery at all the rows of white headstones.
Many men & women have given up their lives for the freedoms that we all enjoy. Unfortunately, many of those that have made it back from their time in service are still carrying on a battle. Throughout the history of the United States, the US Armed Forces Veterans and First Responders have died by suicide in more numbers than that from their time in service. Together we can reduce that number and we MUST reduce that number. We called on them during our time of need now it is time to call upon ourselves to be there for them all now. Be the American worth fighting for…… volunteer…..donate…..get involved…… thank a Hero!
