Here at Woods n Water we love all of what we do and gain great appreciation for being able to thank and honor our Nation’s Heroes. This project was a great example of how beneficial it is when organizations work together. Not just when everyone is watching, but the behind the scenes operation. Trusting in each other, supporting each other.

With this mission, Leslie of Home Depot located at 1200 Nixon Drive, Mt Laurel Township, NJ 08054 contacted Dave Silver of Operation Yellow Ribbon, in search of a Hero in need of some assistance with home repairs and/or upgrading. At the time, OYR did not know of any, so Woods n Water was mentioned. Contact was made with Woods n Water and the search began.

After an unrelated meeting with K9 Warriors of New Jersey, K9 Warriors was able to connect an Active Duty Air Force mother of two with WnW. Once communication was established between WnW and our Hero Kimberly, a date was set to meet at Kimberly’s residence to go over both her needs and wants, make a detailed list of needs to complete the project and to plan the next step.

Through the relationship between WnW and the Texas Roadhouse of Millville, NJ 08332, their marketer, Monica Headley, set up lunch for the entire crew with the Texas Roadhouse located at 631 Cross Keys Road, Sicklerville, NJ 08081. Danielle, their marketer, provided an incredible lunch for everyone!

For this mission, some of the walls had cosmetic repairs and a fresh coat of paint, under the cabinet lighting was installed in the kitchen, a bathroom sink drain was replaced, a new toilet was installed, ceiling fans were replaced with new, as well as a few other upgrades/repairs. What our Hero Kimberly did not know was that we were surprising her with cleaning up the front and backyard, doing some edging work and adding new mulch. We hope that Kimberly and her two children get to enjoy it together for a long time.
